Plain English summary
Lumi never stores the content of your child's conversations. Raw messages are analysed briefly by AI and immediately discarded. Only the risk assessment result is kept — locally on your device. Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with advertisers. Your child's words never leave the analysis pipeline.

2. What data we collect — and what we don't
What Lumi collects
- Email address — when you join the waitlist
- Child's first name — entered by the parent in extension settings
- Child's age — used to calibrate AI responses
- Risk event data — platform name, timestamp, risk level, type, and AI-generated summary (not the original conversation text)
- Extension settings — stored locally in your browser only
What Lumi does NOT collect Never stored
- The actual text of your child's conversations
- Images, videos, or audio from your child's device
- Location data
- Browsing history outside the supported platforms
- Any data about children under 8
How AI analysis works: When Lumi detects a conversation, a short text excerpt is sent to the Claude API (Anthropic) for real-time risk analysis. This text is not stored by Anthropic for training (per their API data policy). It is not stored by us. Only the analysis result (risk level, type, brief summary) is retained — on your device.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising or tracking technology.
5. Children's privacy
- We do not create profiles of children
- All data entry is done by the parent — we do not collect data directly from children
- We do not use children's data for advertising, research, or any commercial purpose
- We comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code)
- Children's conversation text is never stored by Lumi
6. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
- Waitlist email: Consent (Article 6(1)(a))
- Extension functionality: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — necessary to deliver child safety protection
- AI analysis: Legitimate interests — text processed for child safety and immediately discarded
7. Your rights
- Right to access — request a copy of data we hold about you
- Right to erasure — for extension data: remove the extension; for email: contact privacy@lumikids.ai
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to withdraw consent — unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time
- Right to complain — contact the ICO at ico.org.uk

So funktioniert die KI-Analyse: Wenn Lumi ein Gespräch erkennt, wird ein kurzer Textauszug zur Echtzeit-Risikoanalyse an die Claude-API (Anthropic) gesendet. Dieser Text wird von Anthropic gemäß ihrer API-Datenschutzrichtlinie nicht für Trainingszwecke gespeichert. Wir speichern ihn ebenfalls nicht. Nur das Analyseergebnis wird lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert.
